Introduction

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is like a subscription service for local produce. The consumer directly pays a local farmer ahead of time for a weekly delivery of fresh fruits, veggies, etc. The weekly delivery takes place at a predetermined time and location every week.

Tempe CSA is a weekly drop-off location for fresh produce from Crooked Sky Farms, a farm based, right in Phoenix, AZ.  In addition, the Tempe CSA organizers are working with other farmers and local food supplies to offer our members goat cheese, bread, eggs, tamales, and coffee.  For more information, please browse our website.

Our Mission

We are a group of people interested in solving the environmental and social problems surrounding food.  Some of the benefits of utilizing a CSA are:

-Locally produced food (which eliminates many tons of greenhouse emissions, in addition to other benefits)
- Most CSA's are organic or nearly so (including ours, 100% organic) eliminating pesticide use, agricultural runoff, and producing healthier food
- Everything is extremely fresh and tasty
- Much cheaper than getting something equivalent at a store like Whole Foods, etc.
- The farmer(s) receive a living wage and the community shares in crop losses or windfalls
- The money stays in the local economy
- You get exposed to new types and varieties of produce
- No shopping... the veggies are delivered
